The Redwood Lodge is a spacious facility equipped with a commercial kitchen, dining room, lounge area, outdoor seating, and the Upper and Lower Bunkhouses (see details below). From it’s origins as part of the interracial boys Camp Unalayee in the 1950s, the Lodge has gone through several expansions and renovations ending in the early 2000s.
The Upper Bunkhouse is a two-story building with three bedrooms, a common area, bathrooms, showers, and a large raised deck and lounge area overlooking the lodge. The two first-story bedrooms have 2 bunkbeds each, while the second story bedroom has 8 single beds.
The Lower Bunkhouse is a small two-bedroom building. Each bedroom has 2 bunkbeds. The Redwood Lodge is wheelchair accessible with the lower bunkhouse and the lodge itself (with bathrooms and showers) all convenient located for those in need. The Upper Bunkhouse is not wheelchair accessible.
In addition to the primary area, renting the Redwood Lodge also comes with access (non-exclusive) to Quaker Center’s outdoor spaces. The Redwood Circle can be reserved separately if exclusive access is needed.
The Redwood Circle and Labyrinth
Just above the Redwood Lodge, The Redwood Circle is a popular location for outdoor meetings, weddings and other ceremonies. A natural ‘fairy’ circle is accompanied by rustic benches for guests with an available power supply for speakers and other electronic needs. The Redwood Circle is reserved separately.
The Labyrinth is a meditation area adjacent to the Redwood Lodge. The winding path is meant to offer a space of silence and contemplation for those interested.
